Report #1
In May 2019, 860 individuals were recruited, consented, and invited to participate in an interactive national survey designed to help better understand the negative impacts of several different substance use disorders on the HIV care continuum and important life areas. Of the 860 individuals invited, 690 (80%) completed the survey.
Highlights of this report, which includes both national-level results and state-level results, are:
- The estimated prevalence of each substance use disorder among individuals living with HIV who are not virally suppressed
- The estimated individual-level negative impact each substance use disorder has on an individual who is living with HIV who has the respective substance use disorder
- The estimated population-level negative impact of each substance use disorder, which takes into account both prevalence and individual-level negative impact
